About
Hello! <3 I’m Emily, and I’ve been making games for about 9 years, both solo and professionally. For 4 of those years, I worked as a programmer on titles for AAA companies like Riot Games and Activision. But no matter the scale, I’ve always been drawn to the indie scene.
There are so many incredible indie games coming out these days, and I’ve seen firsthand how easy it is for even the most thoughtful, creative projects to go unnoticed or at least not get the attention they deserve. At the same time, I’ve always loved hearing people talk about the things they’re passionate about (especially when it comes to game dev). Everyone’s dev journey is different, and I find it fascinating to hear about the design decisions, challenges, and technical experiences that come up along the way.
That’s why I started Pixel Breakdown, a channel where I interview devs working on all kinds of games, from solo developers coding in their bedrooms to small teams and established indie studios. It’s a space to celebrate their work while also breaking down the pixels and the screen to reveal the people behind the games. We dig into the how and why behind their projects and help more people discover the awesome games being made out there. Interviews posted weekly to YouTube!
If you are an indie developer and want to come on, just fill out this form and I should reach out within a day or two!
