Mech Arena Game Modes Guide: Playing the Objective in Every Mode
How to approach Mech Arena's objective-based and team deathmatch modes – what wins each one, which mechs fit, and how to avoid chasing kills that don't matter.
Mech ArenaGame Modes Guide Mech Arena matches are short and chaotic, but every mode has a clear win condition. Players who focus on that condition win far more often than players who chase kills.
Objective modes
In objective-based modes, teams fight over zones or beacons on the map. Holding them earns points, and the team that reaches the target first – or holds more when time runs out – wins.
What wins:
- Being on the objective. A mech standing on a zone is often worth more than a kill elsewhere.
- Contesting enemy zones to stop their points.
- Grouping up – two mechs on a zone hold far better than one.
Good mech choices: tanks and durable brawlers that can survive on a point, plus supports that keep them alive.
Team deathmatch–style modes
When the goal is eliminations, survival matters as much as damage:
- Don’t feed – every death gives the enemy a point.
- Focus fire on one target at a time.
- Retreat to heal or reload instead of fighting at low health.
Good mech choices: consistent damage dealers, long-range mechs on open maps and brawlers on tight maps.
General rules for every mode
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Watch the minimap | Spot flankers and empty objectives |
| Use cover | Peeking beats standing in the open |
| Stick together | Groups win fights solo mechs lose |
| Swap mechs smartly | Pick the next mech based on what the team needs |
Choosing your next mech mid-match
When your mech is destroyed, think about:
- Is the objective lost? Bring a tank to retake it.
- Is a flanker hunting your team? Bring something that punishes close range.
- Is the enemy hiding in cover? Bring burst or indirect damage.
