AFK Arena Resonating Crystal Explained: Level Your Whole Roster With Five Heroes
The Resonating Crystal shares the level of your top five heroes with the rest of your team. Here's how it works, who to put in your top five and common mistakes.
AFK ArenaResonating Crystal Explained The Resonating Crystal is one of the best systems in AFK Arena. Instead of levelling every hero separately, you level five heroes – and the crystal lets the rest of your roster share that level. It saves an enormous amount of gold and Hero’s Essence.
How it works
- Your five highest-level heroes are linked to the crystal.
- Heroes placed in the crystal’s slots are raised to the level of the lowest of those five.
- As your top five level up, everyone in the crystal levels up with them.
That’s why levelling your top five evenly matters: the crystal follows the weakest of the five.
Choosing your top five
Your top five don’t have to be your best team – they just need to be heroes you’re happy to level for a long time. Good picks:
- Heroes you’ll use for months, like strong supports and tanks.
- Heroes that can reach high ascension tiers, so they don’t hit a level cap early.
- A mix of factions, so your top five can also form useful teams.
Using the crystal slots
- Put heroes you use often but don’t want to level manually into the slots.
- Add faction-tower heroes so they’re always at a useful level.
- More slots unlock over time – fill them as soon as they do.
Removing a hero from a slot may come with a cooldown before the slot can be used again, so don’t swap heroes in and out carelessly.
After the cap
Once your top five reach the maximum level available, the crystal itself becomes the thing you upgrade, pushing the shared level even higher. At that point, levelling resources go into the crystal rather than individual heroes.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Why it hurts |
|---|---|
| Levelling heroes outside the top five | Wasted resources – the crystal can do it for free |
| Uneven top five | The crystal follows the lowest one |
| Leaving slots empty | Free levels left unused |
| Swapping slots too often | Cooldowns block you when you need a hero |
How it changes your strategy
With the crystal, the question is no longer “who should I level?” but “who should I ascend?” Levels are shared; ascension tiers are not. Read our ascension guide to plan that side.
Treat the crystal as the backbone of your account – five well-chosen heroes can carry the levels of your entire roster.
